Here I am at a New Street Authors’ reading event, held as part of the 39th Birmingham Jazz and Blues Festival at Hampton by Hilton (hotel). We were on for two evenings: Thursday 20th July and Friday 21st of July 2023. I read at the Thursday event, along with some of my hugely talented writer chums from New Street Authors, namely: David Wake, Lee Benson, Dawn Patricia Bolton, Wanda Pierpont-Jones, Martyn Tracey, and Octavia Clarke.
That’s me in the far distance in the hat. Our modest audience on the first night comprised other NSA authors, the crew – a band were on after us – and a few others out of camera shot. The audience on the second night was larger.
The event was my first reading gig of 2023.
